Gobang goes Bang + Win a New iPad

Apr 12, 2012 - Kwalee has celebrated the release of their first iOS game, Gobang Social, by blowing up and utterly destroying, a brand New iPad. Using high explosives, then a pickaxe, the latest Apple iPad is seen broken up into numerous pieces. The whole exciting event was captured for posterity on video and can be seen on the Kwalee YouTube channel. To compensate anyone who is upset at the destruction of this fine product, Kwalee are giving away a New iPad to the lucky winner of a simple competition.


Gobang Social goes Global

Apr 03, 2012 - Gobang Social is a challenging, turn based, strategy game available globally for free on the App Store. It is the first game from Leamington Spa, UK based startup Kwalee. The core game mechanic of Gobang Social was arrived at after much prototype play testing. The game's goal is to connect five bombs within a 12 x 12 matrix, whilst competing against Facebook friends. The game is easy to pick up but players can get really good at it using various strategies.


Kwalee launch game in Asia and Asia Pacific

Mar 29, 2012 - Following the release of their multiplayer game Gobang Social in New Zealand, Kwalee have launched a new and improved version of their game into more App Stores. After developing features and adding further enhancements to Gobang Social, version 1.2 is now available in Australia, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand and Taiwan. Fully integrated with Facebook, players can begin playing now with their Facebook friends.


Experienced gaming artist helps paint students a future

Mar 16, 2012 - Kwalee Artist, Jay Lytwynenko is offering advice based on her knowledge and expertise to those wanting to pursue a career in concept and in game art. Jay joined the Kwalee game designers in November 2011. Having already worked for a few video game companies, she brought versatility and knowledge to her work and continues to enhance her skills as a result. Her extensive qualifications started from receiving an A in GSCE Art, which led her to pursue the subject as part of her A Level studies.
