[prMac.com] Natick, MA - December 11, 2007 - TotalView Technologies, the world's leading provider of scalable debugging and analysis software solutions for the multi-core era, today announced that its MemoryScape memory debugger has received the Editor's Choice 2007 Product of the Year Award from Supercomputing Online, the homepage for high-performance computing, networking and storage professionals.

The Supercomputing Online Editor's Choice Product of the Year Award is given annually to products with outstanding innovation in design, value and performance. Products receiving the award must also change the competitive landscape of the market, whether through innovative features, exceptional value for the price/performance, remarkable ease of use, or a demonstrable boost to users' productivity. Winners were determined by votes from Supercomputing Online editors. MemoryScape is also a contender for the Supercomputing Online 2007 Reader's Choice Award, with voting now open at the TotalView Technologies Poll Booth.

"We cover hundreds of new high-performance computing products every year and we give the annual Product of the Year Award to those products that we feel are truly the best in the market," said Chris O'Neal, editor-in-chief of Supercomputing Online. "We selected TotalView Technologies' MemoryScape because of its unsurpassed power and ease of use. It is clear that MemoryScape was built from the ground up to be a parallel debugger."

MemoryScape is a graphical, interactive memory debugger that helps developers, build engineers, and QA testers identify, inspect and resolve difficult memory problems in C, C++ and FORTRAN, including complex multi-process and multi-threaded programs for Mac OS X. Designed to be an integrated part of the software development process, MemoryScape enables Mac OS X developers to monitor heap memory, view memory usage, locate memory leaks, track memory events and show corrupted memory, while an application is running. Mac OS X developers can save and compare memory states and compile sophisticated memory reports. MemoryScape is non-intrusive, so memory problems can be found without recompiling, and without waiting all day for even the smallest test to run.

MemoryScape's intuitive interface simplifies memory debugging for all levels of Mac OS X developers and reduces development time by memory debugging programs on the fly, without instrumentation. Its lightweight technology allows memory debugging of performance-critical applications with minimal performance impact. With MemoryScape, Mac OS X developers can also use memory debugging command line scripts to test programs in batch environments or within a test system to catch memory errors before they cause a program to crash.

"We are honored to receive the 2007 Product of the Year Award from the editors of Supercomputing Online," said Rich Collier, CEO of TotalView Technologies. "We are committed to providing products that address the parallel debugging needs of all Mac OS X developers, helping them significantly improve their productivity, and are pleased to receive this validation of our efforts."
