Barton Springs Software Announces Prosperity Limited Public Beta

Austin, TX    Dec 13, 2007 in Software

[prMac.com] IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Austin, Texas - December 13, 2007 - Barton Springs Software is pleased to announced the first limited public beta of Prosperity, a new personal finance application for Mac OS X. Prosperity features easy tagging, categorization, and management of their transactions as well as direct download capabilities from hundreds of financial institutions, all with the traditional ease of use expected on the Mac.

Prosperity Key Concepts:

- Sum zero accounting
Prosperity uses double-entry accounting internally, guaranteeing that transactions across all accounts (including payees) will sum to zero - meaning you can see exactly how much you spent with any one bank account or payee across all dates and accounts, instantly.

- Direct downloads
Utilizing the established Open Financial Exchange (OFX) protocol, Prosperity allows you to download transactions from hundreds of OFX-participating financial institutions directly, without having to navigate your bank's website. By supporting the standard QIF and OFX file formats, Prosperity can import transactions from even more financial institutions.

- Categories and Tags
As with most other financial packages, Prosperity lets you categorize transactions and create your own categories. Beyond categorization, Prosperity lets you add your own supplemental keywords, called tags. So after creating a Groceries transaction, for example, you could add tags about when and where you were, or whether it was home, business, or vacation related.

- .Mac integration
If you subscribe to Apple's .Mac service, Prosperity lets you back up and restore documents to and from your iDisk. When necessary, you can restore the backup document and continue working.

Any Mac user can sign up for the Limited Public Beta simply by visiting the company website and sending in a simple application. Prosperity requires Mac OS X 10.4.9 or later, or Mac OS X 10.5.1 or later.

Barton Springs Software was founded in 2006 with a focus on creating easy to use commercial software in markets that have long been neglected by major publishers. Our inspiration and name comes from the refreshing natural springs that fill Barton Springs Pool, a summer destination for generations of Texans.
