Layers for iPhone 2.2 - Layer Transparency, Brush Offset and More

in Entertainment (E)

[] Blacksburg, VA - today is pleased to announce the immediate availability of Layers 2.2 for the iPhone and iPod touch! Layers is a powerful painting tool for the iPhone that allows you to draw on multiple layers - taking your mobile painting experience to the next level. Use up to five layers in your drawings and create a masterpiece with fifteen high-quality brushes, a full range of color and transparency and rich undo support. Then transfer your work to the desktop as a high-resolution Photoshop file with the layers intact! Version 2.2 is a major upgrade to Layers incorporating several new features developed for the iPad version including per-layer transparency controls, adjustable brush tip offset and five new brushes.

Layer transparency has been a requested feature since the app was released and it's finally here. Add a photo layer to your work and lower its transparency to draw on the layer beneath, or compare the contents of multiple layers by making them semi-transparent. Check out the "More" menu in the layer toolbar of the app to adjust the transparency of an individual layer.

The iPhone's touch sensitive screen is great for drawing, but thin lines are often hidden by your finger on the screen. A new brush offset feature in Layers 2.2 makes it easy to see the lines you're drawing. Instead of brush strokes appearing beneath your finger, you can position them up to 80px away in any direction.

Version 2.2 also includes a number of performance improvements. Please see the Layers web site for screenshots and additional feature information. Promotional codes and review copies are available upon request.
