Notebooks for iPad Supports Serious, Integrated Work On The iPad
July 6, 2010 in Productivity
[prMac.com] Salzburg, Austria - Alfons Schmid today is pleased to announce the iPad version of Notebooks, an application to write notes, manage tasks or projects, and store any type of document. Integrating those areas into a single application is unique and gives users a homogeneous environment which enhances concentration and productivity and at the same time eliminates the need to switch applications.
"Writing Notes" is where Notebooks comes from, with the vision to be the "only notebook you need" and to replace any conventional note taking system. Central to Notebooks is the concept of "books", which allows users to file their documents in nested categories and keep separate things separate.
"Managing Tasks" is a logical use of any notebook. What makes task management special in Notebooks is the option to break projects down into nested sub-projects, which keeps them more manageable. Supportive information, reference material and meeting notes are never more than a few taps away, stored in a related book.
"Storing Documents" is another obvious extension of Notebooks. There is no conventional notebook that would not hold a family photo, the printed version of a travel schedule or an article for reading later. Notebooks is no different and stores books, articles and documents taken from web sites, Apple iWork, MS Office, PDF or RTF documents created on the computer, email attachments, pictures, sound files, movies etc. - Notebooks never gets bulky and can easily be used as a personal or professional knowledge base.
Getting documents into and out of Notebooks is simple, as Notebooks can synchronize with WebDAV servers like MobileMe, but also offers direct access to its documents from Mac and Windows systems and any WebDAV capable application through its built-in WebDAV server. Synchronization with Dropbox is currently in development and will become available soon.
On the iPhone, Notebooks has been very successful for the past 18 months, but now on the iPad, users experience a whole new dimension: this is the place where Notebooks feels at home.
