[prMac.com] Sewanee, Tennessee - The Highly Technical Doohickey Company (Twitter: @doohickies), developer of innovative information management tools, today announced the release of TickerMenu 2.0, a Mac OS X-only application that makes it simpler than ever to keep an eye on current stock prices by displaying them in the user's menubar. Version 2.0 is a free update for all TickerMenu users.
Version 1 of TickerMenu was a Staff Pick and a Featured Application on Apple Downloads. It was also a pick on Jason O'Grady's PowerPage Podcast.
"TickerMenu makes monitoring stock prices simpler that it's ever been on the OS X desktop," said W.L. Phillips, lead developer for the Highly Technical Doohickey Company. "To check a stock price, users often have to switch to another application or bring up a widget, either of which can be a distraction. TickerMenu solves this problem by putting current stock prices right in the menubar, so the user can follow them with just a glance. A single click reveals current price information for all of the stocks that the user is following, and the information is color-coded, making it immediately understandable."
New features in TickerMenu 2.0 include the following:
* A single click reveals current, color-coded price information for all stocks in the user's tracking list
* The user can specify that the information appearing in the menubar rotate through all of the symbols in the tracking list, changing at an interval selected by the user, from once a second to once a minute
* The user can now specify that any stock with significant price movement is highlighted
TickerMenu is built exclusively for Mac OS X and is compatible with versions 10.4 (Tiger), 10.5 (Leopard) and 10.6 (Snow Leopard).
Pricing and Availability:
TickerMenu 2.0 is available immediately. It is free to try, and a registration code may be purchased for only $8.95 (USD). More information about TickerMenu, including demonstration videos, can be viewed online.
