[prMac.com] Southampton, United Kingdom - MooCowMusic today added support for the Line 6 MIDI Mobilizer interface to their best-selling iPad application: Pianist Pro. Already offering some of the best MIDI support on the iPad, the Line 6 interface further extends the MIDI capabilities of the app, providing low-latency bi-directional control of external MIDI devices.
Pianist Pro is the market-leading piano simulator for the iPad, providing the full 88 keys of a professionally sampled piano as well as alternative instruments including organs, guitars and synths - all of which can be recorded and overdubbed to provide a musical scratchpad or live performance tool. The number one iPad music app at launch, Pianist Pro has since been recommended by global media sources such as The New York Times and Rolling Stone Magazine, and was also recently used in a live performance by legendary band Squeeze on the Jimmy Fallon Show (NBC).
In addition to being a stand-alone composition application with a fully configurable piano keyboard interface and sound engine, Pianist Pro has expanded into the realm of MIDI, proving a useful studio tool for musicians and hobbyists alike. It can act as an inexpensive multi-touch controller keyboard, with wireless MIDI control allowing studio synths to be played from the comfort of an armchair, or even from another room.
The programmable arpeggiator and the Scale Piano (allowing scales from blues to gypsy to be soloed by just running a finger up and down the screen) are available in MIDI mode too, making it more than just a passive keyboard. Using MIDI Mobilizer, Pianist Pro can become a MIDI sound source, driven by an external hardware keyboard or a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) such as Logic or GarageBand. It can even become a mini recording studio, allowing song ideas to be recorded on the road with nothing more than an iPad and portable MIDI keyboard, and then imported into a DAW via a Standard MIDI File back at the studio.
MIDI Mobilizer(tm) from Line 6, Inc., the industry leader in digital modeling technology for music-creation products, is the only MIDI interface for the iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad. A low-profile piece of hardware that fits into the 30-pin connector, MIDI Mobilizer provides standard MIDI 5-pin DIN cables that can be connected to millions of classic and modern MIDI devices.
