[prMac.com] Graz, Austria - Firetask 3.2 was approved by Apple and is now available on the iTunes App Store. The new version introduces delegating of tasks via email as well as improvements for editing project, category and task details including a totally redesigned graphical date chooser. Firetask is a project-oriented task management tool based on David Allen's Getting Things Done (GTD)(R) approach developed by independent developer Gerald Aquila together with user interface design specialist Wolfgang Bartelme of Bartelme Design.
The new task emailing feature allows users to quickly delegate a task with the press of a button from the task's detail view. The task information is simply sent via email as a link that when tapped on by the recipients automatically adds a new task in their in-tray. This simple, but powerful concept saves a lot of time on both sides when delegating tasks - especially, if the person who is delegating the task already created the task using the "Waiting For" category. For Firetask this is only the first step; more delegation features such as a feedback mechanism from contributors are already on the short-term roadmap.
In addition, the new version features improved editing of task details including a completely redesigned, highly visual date chooser. The new date chooser shows the currently selected date including the weekday together with the current months. Dates are selected by tapping onto the respective day in the month view. Swiping horizontally across the weekday and date area allows to change the currently selected day while swiping horizontally and vertically across the month area changes the month and year accordingly. In addition, especially users from European countries will like the fact that the new date chooser shows week numbers.
Firetask for iOS supports WiFi syncing with its Mac counterpart that was also updated a few days ago. Firetask for Mac 1.1 supports a configurable toolbar and printing of task lists. The Mac version is now available in four new languages, namely Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese and Russian. The developer announced that the new localizations will also be ported back to the iPhone version as part of the next update.
