[prMac.com] Cambridge, MA - Metaversal Studios, creators of popular games for the iPhone and other platforms, today had its three millionth game download from the iTunes App Store.
In 2010, Metaversal Studios expanded its offering of casual games designed for use on the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad while continuing to develop games for Facebook and other social platforms. Metaversal's games for the iOS platform include Bad Apples, a match-3 puzzle game; Frank Further, a tilt-control launcher game; Shave Me!, a universal (optimized for every iOS device) shaving simulator entertainment app; Peel It, a timed touch-screen entertainment game; and GameRoom, a board game simulator for the iPad.
Based in Cambridge, MA, Metaversal Studios attributes much of the success of its iOS games to word-of-mouth and grassroots-style promotional efforts.
Lead Game Designer Jay Laird said, "Reaching 3,000,000 App Store downloads is a great milestone for us - it feels like we just unlocked a big achievement. When you're competing for attention in a market of low-priced and free games, the support of a great user community is priceless - especially when it means we can devote more of our budget to just making great games to keep our users happy!"
Mobile gamers are becoming savvier and expecting more from iOS games every day, so game developers focusing on that market must plan in advance for continued success. With five active and regularly updated iOS titles available in the App Store and several more in development for early 2011, Metaversal Studios is looking ahead down the road to reaching four million downloads.
