[prMac.com] Code by Kevin has released NameFind 2.0, an OS X file-search tool that provides an alternative to the Mac's built-in Spotlight technology.
NameFind is a tool that provides fast, simple file-searching capabilities on Mac OS X. It does exactly what its name says: find files by name. Enter a search term, specify your search directory, and run the search query. NameFind will present a list of all files that match the search name.
Version 2.0 includes the following improvements:
* New icons for greater ease-of-use.
* File search is now case-insensitive and returns only file names, not directories.
* Now uses badges on dock icon to notify of search results.
* Keeps history of search terms.
* Faster search.
NameFind is shareware; licenses are available for $20 and a 30-day demo is available. NameFind is a universal binary and requires Mac OS X 10.4.
