[prMac.com] Boston, Massachusetts - Dear Panda LLC is ringing in the new year and getting ready for the new semester with a sale on CourseNotes, their top selling iPad app which helps students take notes and stay organized. The must-have app for students will be on sale on iTunes for just $2.99 through January 17th. Dear Panda also announced that they will provide promo codes to allow educators to try the app for free, while supplies last.
The sale couldn't come at a more opportune time for students about to start a new semester with a brand new iPad acquired during winter break. Dear Panda is hoping that the new price and offer to educators will help more schools to start using the app in class, and take advantage of the long list of sharing and collaborative features that have already made it a big hit in classrooms all over the world.
One such classroom success comes from the Ceders School of Excellence in Greenock Scotland, where Fraser Speirs, Head of Computing and IT, has lead the effort to make the school one of the first in the world to put an iPad in the hands of every single student.
"The most important aspect of CourseNotes for us [at Ceders School] is the sharing capabilities", says Speirs, "Previously, it was difficult to know that students were studying the appropriate parts of the textbook at home. What I do now is ask them to send me their note session from CourseNotes, which provides an easy and lightweight way to check that students are studying and that they're understanding it."
Mr. Speirs went on to talk about the students themselves, and how they have taken advantage of the in-app sharing capabilities: "The device-to-device sharing is also very powerful for situations where a pupil has missed a class and they can quickly catch up with notes from another student."
Other feedback received by Dear Panda shows more and more classrooms using the app to submit homework and class assignments directly to the professor's iPad via CourseNotes. With even more sharing and collaboration features in the works, CourseNotes stands to remain an integral part of any classroom using iPads as part of their curriculum.
To inquire about the free promo codes, educators are being asked to send their name, school affiliation and how they plan to use CourseNotes in the classroom by contacting Dear Panda.
