[prMac.com] Los Angeles, CA / Boston, MA - Final Cut Studio, Adobe and Avid editors and digital filmmakers from around the world will gather together for the Tenth Annual San Francisco SuperMeet, to be held on Friday, January 28, 2011 at the UCSF Mission Bay Conference Center in San Francisco, CA. Tickets to the SuperMeet are now available for purchase online only for $15.00 each plus ticket fee and only $10.00, (plus ticket fee) for Students. Registration for the Free educational workshops are also currently online.
Free Educational Workshops will be offered during the day prior to the SuperMeet, featuring fresh content from Canon, Adobe, Avid and Blackmagic Design. Workshop attendees have twelve sessions to choose from.
Instructors Karl Soule and Kevin Monahan of Adobe will be hold three DIFFERENT ninety minute workshops focusing on Adobe Production Premium CS5, workflow and HDSLR filmmaking.
Editor Steve Hullfish will take students through the essentials of Avid Media Composer 5, specifically for the Final Cut Pro editor who is considering adding MC5 to his/her tool set.
Master colorist Rich Montez will conduct three one hour classes Blackmagic Design's DaVinci Resolve detailing features and capabilities such the advantages of real-time performance in color correction, as well as proper set up and integration with other tools.
Canon's Ed Meyers will present three identical ninety minute workshops on the basics of using DSLRs for moving images. Topics will include benefits as well as limits of the hardware. Audio concerns, and workflow suggestions will also be discussed.
The producers have indicated that some of these workshops have already reached capacity, but seats do remain for others. It is highly recommended that students register quickly. A wait list will be implemented shortly after all classes are filled.
The workshops will end at 4PM at which time the doors open to the "SuperMeet Digital Showcase" featuring over 30 vendors, cash bars, free hors d'oeuvres and the "Open Screen Theater," where digital filmmakers get a chance to screen their own content in front of their peers.
The SuperMeet stage show will begin at 7PM and feature engaging presentations from Canon, AJA and Autodesk, Pixel Corp's Alex Lindsay and Final Cut Studio Gurus, Steve Martin and Abba Shapiro. Plus "Show and Tells" from Bay Area filmmakers and the always wild "World Famous Raffle, where over $50,000 worth of valuable prizes will be handed out to dozens of lucky winners.
