[prMac.com] London, United Kingdom - Hours spent studying in a library or looking through volumes of dusty books could soon be a thing of the past for students, thanks to a new iPhone application.
Developed by London-based ForeMinds, ArticleSearch, the new, free app allows higher education students to do simultaneous searches for information across multiple sources. This includes searches of scientific papers, journals, articles, magazines and academic publications all available on the move from students' mobile phones.
Developers say the app will allow students to avoid having to repeat their searches when using different computer systems. It will also mean they can carry out instantaneous searches of several libraries and sources from virtually any location while on the move. ArticleSearch gathers its results in "test tubes" to show information from each source. It also allows students to send the searches or its results to any colleague by SMS or email without the need for the person receiving it to have the app themselves.

Managing Director of ForeMinds, Haroldo Bottosso, explained: "We designed the app by putting ourselves in the mindset of the student, and by discussing how their lives could be made easier and more time efficient when completing academic work. We made it simple to use by typing in a search and, within moments, the app will filter across its extensive range of libraries, to locate academic papers from a variety of sources. Findings are presented in one centralised location, ready to reference." One user who reviewed the app via the App Store USA said: "This app saves tons of time. I do research at lunch, on the bus, anywhere."
