[prMac.com] Vancouver, British Columbia - CobbySoft Media announces the release of Thermal Vision 1.0. Thermography has a long history, with commercial thermal imaging equipment, firefighters can see through smoke, to find persons, and to localize the base of a fire. Thermal images are actually visual displays of the amount of infrared energy emitted, transmitted, and reflected by an object. Since infrared equipment is not readily available to everyday users, Thermal Vision app for iPhone is designed to interpret the luminance of the object and build an image with thermography effect.
Traditional image processing technology is slow and demanding for the iPhone hardware. Thermal Vision overcame this by leveraging the latest OpenGL ES 2.0 framework and applying post-processing pixel-shader to each frame of the camera feed and re-displaying the result on the screen using the built-in GPU.
* Real-time thermal vision effect on iPhone live camera feed
* Capture the luminance of any object
* Apply color stepping to map luminance to thermal colors
* Snap thermal effect pictures to the camera roll
* iPhone, iPod touch 4G, iPad 2
* Requires iPhone OS 4.0 or later
