[prMac.com] Fremont, California - A Florida middle school received national media attention after a teacher reportedly bullied and taunted a student for refusing to dissect a frog during science class. This thirteen-year-old student was protected under Florida's Choice-In-Dissection law, allowing her to opt of dissection with a parent's permission. The Florida State Board of Education is now investigating the incident.
Change.org published the story and set up a petition to tell the Florida Collier County School Board to switch to humane dissection alternatives. Following the incident, animal rights group PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals), offered to buy the school a set of virtual dissection kits, which have been created by Emantras.
Frog Dissection 1.6.1 is an ethical alternative to live animal dissections, the Frog Dissection app helps students learn all about frogs and their biological functions, without messy lab work or harm to living creatures. The app allows for a detailed dissection, and the 3D navigation accommodates discovery and procedures similar to a real-time dissection
Recognized by animal rights advocacy groups and awarded the Mark Twain Ethical Science Award by PETA, the Frog Dissection App will enable more students to learn animal anatomy without needless animal culling.
