March 19, 2011 in Education
[prMac.com] Mumbai, India - Internet Design Zone, an iPhone application developer company, today is pleased to announce the launch of Counting For Kids 1.0. This educational game app for iPhone/iPod touch will help parents teach their little kids counting numbers from 1 to 10 in a fun way.
Counting For Kids helps parents to teach their child to count the numbers 123 on their iPhone or iPod touch. The app is a simple educational game where the kid has to count the animals displayed on screen. This app helps initiate the learning process of basic counting using numbers, pictures of animals and sounds. The app interface is designed to look like a jungle. The bright and colorful pictures are aimed to catch the child's attention and keep him/her glued to the screen. The child is motivated to count the number of animals. In the process the child also learns to identify animals from their pictures and names. Without creating too much confusion, Counting For Kids aims to teach children to count in an engaging way.
To use this app, a parent should sit the child and guide him/her to explore the skill of counting in an interesting manner. Total 10 questions are asked. Each question is spoken aloud in the background by the voice-over. The child has to count the number of animals displayed on the screen. Since the name of the animal is spoken aloud and the picture is displayed on screen, the child learns to recognize the animal as well. Three options are provided.
If the child chooses the correct option, a monkey jumps on the screen in excitement with the sound of applause coming in the background. If the child chooses the incorrect option, a sad looking monkey comes on screen with a sighing sound. Then, the child is shown the right answer by auto-counting of the number of animals on screen by the background voice. There is a help button if a child is confused at any question. Whenever help is pressed, the counting begins on-screen and the child is encouraged to press the correct answer.
Parents can sit with their child and help move the kid's finger over each animal to count the number. Thus it will increase parent-child interaction and create better bonding. At the end of the 10 questions, the score out of 100 is displayed. For every score - 10, 20, ... ,90, 100 - a short message of encouragement is displayed. Thus the child would want to try again and again till he/she gets the perfect score of 100. Thus the child learns the technique of counting objects at his/her own pace in an enjoyable manner. The app can be played again and again since random questions with different animals and numbers appear every time. Parents can help their kids master the art of counting 1 to 10 and learn about common animals at the same time with this educational app.
