[prMac.com] Zwijndrecht, Belgium - Galarina today is pleased to announce the release of PhotoMeta 1.0, a brand new iPad app. EXIF, GPS and TIFF metadata tags of any photo are available in a wink. The pinch-and-zoom map gives an extra dimension to geotagged photos.
PhotoMeta goes the extra mile by supporting camera maker specific metadata (a.k.a. makernotes) for photos of the most popular camera brands, including Canon, Nikon, Olympus and Sony.
Any photo available on the iPad is supported:
* Photos synced via iTunes
* Photos imported with the Camera Connection Kit
* Saved photos
* Metadata can be extracted from internet photos with the built-in web browser
"Support for makernotes and having the possibility to extract metadata from internet photos is really interesting for a lot of photographers" said Chris Cornelis, founder and CEO of Zwijndrecht, Belgium based Galarina. "Being able to easily compose a list of favorite metadata tags is a nice extra."
If possible, PhotoMeta calculates additional metadata automatically. Depth of field and hyperfocal distance are just two examples.
A photographer can choose to either have basic metadata info displayed in a clear overview panel or to see all metadata tags in a self-explanatory list.
* Compatible with iPad
* Requires iOS 4.0 or later
* 0.6 MB
Pricing and Availability:
PhotoMeta 1.0 is a free app that shows the basic metadata and the location map for geotagged photos. An in-app purchase of $2.99 (USD) uncovers all metadata. PhotoMeta is available worldwide exclusively through the App Store in the Photography category.
