[prMac.com] Oslo, Norway - iOS developer Nor Eagle today announced that they will be holding a "Squid Drop-trivia-quiz" on the Touch Arcade forum April 12th. One day prior to the game's worldwide release. As the prices are promo-codes for the game this will give a few lucky people the chance to play the game before it is even in the App Store.
T. Benjamin Larsen, Nor Eagle's pleasantly smelling CEO, had this to say about the competition: "As everyone knows we are completely unselfish nice people and are obviously not doing this as a publicity stunt. OK, it is a publicity stunt." He followed this schizophrenic statement by a more expected one: "We think it's a good way to get some publicity. The quiz itself should be fun, some gamers will get a free game and we will get a bit of publicity. I think it's a win-win, err -win situation." When asked about the rules for the competition he said this: "It's fairly straight-forward. I'll ask questions and the first one with a reply I deem correct receives a promo-code he or she can use to download the game. You need to be a member of the Touch Arcade Forum to participate, but it is free to sign-up. Oh, and we are not affiliated with the site in any way, we just spend way too much time there."
Squid Drop is an arcade/action game in the infinite/survival-genre. Larsen has expressed high-hopes for the title earlier and like any good snake-oil-salesman he made sure to talk up the game this time as well: "It's a great game!" he said. "Yes, I know that's an obvious statement coming from me, but it really is among the most played games on my own phone, and I consider the testing-phase to be long over. I just can't put the thing down, I want that high-score!"
Squid Drop is an arcade/action game and will be released for the iPhone & iPod touch on April 13th. It will be priced at $0.99.
