[prMac.com] Minneapolis, Minnesota - Do a search on the word, recipes, and more websites than can be counted will appear. These sites are packed with great recipes, food ideas and meal plans. In addition to offering great culinary creations, each visitor is encouraged to print or email a recipe, and even create a recipe box in order to build their own collection. Having such options would be a simple task if there was only one site from which to choose - but there isn't. The result is the user having to maintain multiple recipe collections on multiple recipe web sites and no choice of how to effectively import and organize them on their Mac.
Mariner Software has just introduced MacGourmet Deluxe 3.1, which provides an expanded website import function and is the solution for every cook, chef and foodie who owns a Mac. Supporting more than 40 recipe sites, some of which include Epicurious.com, Allrecipes.com, FoodNetwork.com, BonAppetit.com and CooksIllustrated.com, MacGourmet Deluxe's website importer allows the user to quickly add a recipe to their own collection. This import feature virtually eliminates the need to retype or copy and paste an entire recipe. Instead of having to maintain a personal recipe box at multiple recipe sites, the user is now able to keep their collection, gathered from their various sources, all in one place.
"While it's great to have so many choices when it comes to food, recipes and cooking, how can a person be organized if they have to visit multiple places in order to see what recipes they've collected?" asks Michael Wray, President of Mariner. "We believe that today's cooks are interested in collecting and organizing their recipes in a digital format. That's one of the reasons for this release of MacGourmet Deluxe. It's not only the traditional paper cookbook or recipe box a cook uses, but digital ones too."
In addition to the expanded web import function in MacGourmet Deluxe 3.1, other significant features and functions have been added, each one developed to make recipe collecting and organizing for the 21st century cook even easier. There is a Library that contains a place for Cooking Notes, Shopping Lists and Wine Notes. The ability to merge selected steps of a recipe has been added. Also included are collections for Beverages, Desserts, and Side Dishes, to name a few, with the ability to add even more. Mariner has also added integration with their popular journaling and blogging software, MacJournal, allowing users to post their recipes to their own blog accounts.
