POSTpone! 1.0 for iOS - Automatic Reminder to Send an Email or SMS

in Productivity (E)

[] Tokyo, Japan - Enfour today is pleased to introduce POSTpone! 1.0 for iOS, their new productivity app that allows the user to compose an email or SMS and be reminded when it is time to send it. With POSTpone! messages arrive when and only when they should, it lets you review before sending, and automate tedious recurring messages. The app works by setting up a local push notification, which presents the message the user set aside for delayed transmission. Then it uses in-app email or SMS to send the message through the System's outbox.

The app launches and operates in portrait mode to reveal a scrolling summary list of messages created within the app and awaiting action. At the bottom right are two icons for selecting the type of message: email or SMS. Touching either one brings up a standard message form, including the following text fields: To, CC, BCC, Subject, and Message Field (Subject, CC, and BCC are not available in SMS). The user may fill in the necessary fields with the iOS software keyboard and then touch the Set button in the top right. This brings up the Date picker, an infinite odometer that allows the user to dial in the exact time and date they wish to receive their reminder. The picker is incremented in five minute slots, letting the user send immediately or a future time at least five minutes hence.

It is also possible to switch the timer function off for any message. The suspended message will remain inside the app until a time setting has been assigned. In addition, the user may set any message to automatically recur at the same time every day, week, month, or year -ideal for birthdays, anniversaries or anything else. Items in the message list may be edited for content or deleted, and may also have their reminder time settings revised.

Having received a push-notification reminder, the user simply taps the "OK" button to open the POSTpone! app. Tapping the "Now" button automatically opens Mail or SMS. Touching the Send button activates the normal process of sending the message. As an added convenience, the app supports both SpellChecker and TextExpander snippets. It is also possible to reschedule messages for a later time.
