Agile Web Solutions changes name - Celebrates five years of 1Password

in Software (E)

[] Toronto (Ontario, Canada) - Agile Web Solutions introduced Mac users to a more secure way to browse the web and manage their identity online by releasing the first public beta of 1Password for Mac on Friday, May 19, 2006 - half a decade ago. Over the next five years, 1Password received two major upgrades; numerous awards from publications like Macworld and the TWiT network; a mention from Apple as a Staff Pick; mobile clients on iPhone, iPad, Android, and Windows Phone 7; and a Windows counterpart. To celebrate this incredible success, Agile Web Solutions is streamlining its name to AgileBits.

This succinct and snappy new name does an even better job of expressing the company's core mission: to make innovative applications. The new name also contains 50 percent fewer syllables than its predecessor.

"We've come a long way in just five years," said Dave Teare, co-founder of AgileBits. "We thought we'd celebrate by giving our amazing customers a fresh yet familiar company name that is much more fun to say."

AgileBits, including all products and customer support channels, can now be found at at their website. A single-user license of 1Password for the Mac or Windows is available for $39.95 (USD), and a five-user family license costs $69.95 (USD).
