[prMac.com] Lafayette, Colorado - TeachTech Inc. today is pleased to announce the initial release of their product, File It Away 1.0, a really simple but useful utility for keeping Macintosh files and folders "filed away" and out of sight. Developed by a notoriously messy Macintosh computer user with a computer Desktop so full of icons and trash the program's development was almost mandatory. Many Macintosh users use the Desktop as their "working" file and dread cleaning it up. File It Away makes that easier and quicker.
Version 1.0 provides a simple drag-and-drop interface. The icon for the utility is automatically placed in the Dock at purchase. Drag files or folders to the File It Away icon. Choose to "move" or "duplicate" them. Then pick the destination folder from standard Macintosh dialog box. It doesn't do anything you can't do in the Finder of course but it just makes it more pleasant, easy, and more likely to be done. No more opening multiple windows, arranging them, closing them, dropping files in the wrong place, getting lost while your clicker finger goes numb. Just drag, choose and you are done.
* Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later
* Tested with pre-release versions of Lion (10.7)
* 0.4 MB
Pricing and Availability:
File It Away 1.0 is currently $1.99 USD (or equivalent amount in other currencies) and available worldwide through the Mac App Store in the Utilities category.
