The Matrix Powers a 70 iPad Video Wall at the NRA Show 2011
May 28, 2011 in Entertainment
[prMac.com] Chicago, Illinois - Hospitality Social promoted their booth at the National Restaurant Association Show 2011 by creating a 70 iPad video wall using the iPad app The Matrix. This is not simple video splitting where the iPads are just dumb monitors, but a live editable animation running without any cables or external processing. Just 70 iPads, a cool app, and nothing else! A link to the YouTube video is below.
Version 2.0 of The Matrix was used, which will be available on the iTunes App Store in June. The current version is similar but doesn't yet handle movies and is available now for only $4.99 (USD). The NRA Show ran from May 21, 2011 to May 24, 2011 in Chicago and the iPads were displayed in booth 2583.
The Matrix originally appeared in the App Store in February 2011 for just text and images, and now with version 2.0 it handles video as well. It works on as many iPads as you have, whether that is 2 or 200, and it allows you to share the animations you create with your friends' iPads via email, wifi, or bluetooth. Just create an animation right within the app, send it out to any other iPads also running The Matrix, and play!
Phil Turner of Anywise Enterprise, the makers of The Matrix as well as the world's meanest workout log, Gym Buddy, said, "It is really amazing the things the iPad can do, and it's especially cool when they do them in bunches. The cool thing about The Matrix is that you can create an animation just sitting in a coffee shop and play it across any iPads that happen to be there."
