[prMac.com] Hong Kong - Technical Trading Solutions today is pleased to introduce iChartist 1.0 for iPad, their new finance app that provides Stock, Futures, and Forex quoting, charting, and technical analysis for serious traders and investors. Designed to provide the power and flexibility of a high-end desktop application, iChartist allows the trader to actively monitor intraday charts in real-time, scroll back in time, and zoom in or out. The app features a real-time Quote Screen, where the user can monitor all their stocks, futures, and forex pairs of interest in real time, including the Last Trade Price and the Current Bid and Ask. The user can even monitor the Time & Sales in real time with transaction size as well as the current Bid and Ask size. iChartist offers a wide selection of the most popular Technical Indicators, including MACD, RSI, CCI, ATR, Bollinger Bands, Keltner Channels, Stochastics, Moving Averages and more.

iChartist charts are fully "dynamic." That is, the charts can be scrolled back in time by dragging a finger over the screen, can be zoomed in and out with pinch zoom, and the charts auto-scale while scrolling or zooming. Other available iOS charting apps only provide a static image of a chart that cannot be manipulated at all, seen as an unacceptable deficiency by those who trade for a living. In addition, all charts are fully customizable. Available chart types are Candlestick, OHLC, HILO, Line, and Mountain. Bar thickness and colors, background color, and grid color can be modified to the user's preferences. iChartist also offers a rich set of drawing tools, including various types of trend lines and Fibonacci Retracements. Line thickness, color, and style can be set for all drawing tools and preferred default settings can be saved.

iChartist supports real-time streaming, tick by tick data from all major North American stock and futures exchanges, as well as forex for 140 currency pairs. All charts update with each tick, which may be several times per second. Real-time chart updates are available on the iPad for the first time with iChartist, realizing the ideal combination of convenience and power. Real-time data requires a market data feed subscription from a compatible third party, market data provider. Additional Exchange fees may apply depending on the markets the user follows.

The app launches and operates in either portrait or landscape orientation, though most users will likely opt for landscape mode, which offers the most complete view of the Quotes Screen and any charts opened from this screen. The Quotes Screen has four categories of listings. From top to bottom, they are: Indices, Stocks, Futures, and Forex (Foreign Exchange). There are seven columns across the Quotes Screen. From left to right, they include: Symbol, Last, Change, Change %, Bid, Ask, and Description (Full Name). All text data appears in white, and all numerical data is color-coded: amber, red, green, or yellow. By default, the app opens to display the three major Indices, five well-known Stocks, four heavily traded Futures, and four of the most commonly listed Forex pairs.

The Edit button in the top right of the Tab Bar allows the user to delete any listing. The Add Symbol button permits the trader to enter into the search field the symbol for or name of any listing they would like to add to the Quotes Screen. The ticker symbol database updates each time the Add Symbol button is touched, and the search can be limited to any of the following selections: Stocks, Futures, Forex, Indexes, or All. Touching one or more of the results of the search automatically enters the listing permanently onto the Quotes Screen.

Touching any listing on the Quotes Screen highlights the entire line in blue and brings up the Chart Settings window. From here the user may go directly to the chart or alter any of the chart parameters, including: Chart Type (Line, Mountain, Candlestick, HILO, or OHLC), Time Scale (Month, Week, Day, 60 or 30/20/15/5/3/1 minute), Theme (Dark Gradients, Plain Black, Plain White, Slate Gradient, or Navy), Session (43 listings - CME Index Futures Day, Nymex Energy Day, CBOT Interest Rate Electronic, etc.), and Display Price (Bid, Ask, or Last).

Once opened, the full-screen chart continues updating in real-time as seen by the price marker updating with every tick. Five buttons in the tab bar above allow the user to access the Add Indicator, Drawing Tool, Chart Settings, Time & Sales, and Time Scale windows. From the Add Indicator window the user may overlay any of 22 different technical analysis studies in their choice of color and line style. Indicators available for real-time analysis include: Average Directional Index, Average True Range, Bollinger Bands, Chaikin Money Flow, Commodity Channel Index, Donchian Bands, Keltner Channels, MACD, MA Envelopes, Momentum, Simple Moving Average, Exponential Moving Average, Displaced Moving Average, Weighted Moving Average, On Balance Volume, Parabolic SAR, Rate of Change, Relative Strength Index, Stochastic Fast, Stochastic Slow, Volume, and Williams Percent Range. Opening the Drawing Tool window accesses tools for drawing a Segment, Ray, Horizontal Line, or Fibonacci Retracement. The Time & Sales window provides a tick by tick data table that updates entries for every transaction, showing transaction price and size, as well as the current Bid and Ask size.
