[prMac.com] Bologna, Italy - MobileBricks is a project of AnguriaLab LLC, a company that develops end-user mobile apps for iPhone/iPad, Android, Windows Phone 7 and BlackBerry including the Postino app.
We always try to avoid wasting time re-inventing the weel, so that we can focus on inventing nice and innovative apps for our customers. It's with this in mind that we created MobileBricks to share, with a little profit, a collection of ready-to-use and highly customizable components that we used ourselves in past projects, or that we tought would be useful in future ones.
We know there is a lot of 100% open-source code around, and we've tried much of it in our mobile projects. However, we've often found that those components were poorly documented, without sample projects, possibly with unreadable and uncommented code, and maybe with bugs that you don't exactly know who you should contact to report them, and that you don't know whether and when they will be fixed. There are wonderful exception to this of course, but in our experience a commercial and supported piece of code saves you more development time and gives you the piece of mind in case you find little bugs, because you know you can report the issue and expect to have it fixed soon.
We provide the source code of most of all components, so that you might use it also to instructional purposes, or as a base for further extensions and customizations.
MobileBricks is also interested in expanding its catalog, selling components developed by third parties, and sharing the revenues.
MobileBricks' current components:
A very flexible and customizable Facebook-like popup view with optional title and buttons bar. Use it to show cool notifications, alerts or particular content, or to build multi-step wizards to be handled with delegate methods.
This components allows you to render iOS's SMS-style balloons with custom text. You can decide the position of the array, the color and the size of the balloon, and much more. Auto-resizing capabilities are also present.
A custom TabBar controller that lets you define a custom height, background, colored tab images and frame position. You can even handle taps on tabs for something different than switching the current view controller.
A powerful, more flexible and more customizable substitute for iPad's UIPopoverController class, that works also on the iPhone. Use it for contextual and read-only information.
A customizable toolbar with user-defined height, background color or image. Buttons can be autopositioned or manually handled. Custom animations also included to spice up your UI.
A view controller that mimics the iPhone's lock screen. Use it to code-protect your entire apps or just some screens. Many properties to customize its appearance and behavior, and methods to set-up or validate the secret code.
Pricing and Availability:
MobileBricks is available for $19.00 USD (equivalent amounts in other currencies) and available from the MobileBricks website.
