[prMac.com] Sea Girt, New Jersey - Tickets on the Fly, the mobile ticket marketing company, just made their free mobile application for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch that much better by soon releasing an update that allows them to accept all major credit cards through the application with no additional fees to the customer.
Tickets on the Fly's design allows users to quickly and efficiently browse, search for, and purchase event, concert, and sports tickets from their mobile device. By letting the customer deal directly with the person that owns the tickets, Tickets on the Fly is able to offer pricing that is up to 30 percent lower on comparable inventory on Stubhub and other web ticket companies. With the secondary ticket market growing more and more every day, Tickets on the fly is helping regulate the inflation in ticket prices. Their focus is strictly mobile, and will be offering their application to Droid users this fall, with an eventual release for Blackberry and Samsung.
For those that don't know about the secondary market this is a brief explanation on how it works. First tickets go on sale at Ticket Master or Live Nation. On the day of the ticket sales thousands of brokers purchase all the premium seats. On a extremely popular event they buy out the stadium. At this point they then mark up those tickets 20-30% above face value. Because brokers don't have a large marketing budget they then post their tickets with Stubhub or some ticket exchange that covers all the all marketing but then that company then marks up the tickets another 20-30%. Not only do these web marketing companies mark up the tickets and charge the customer more but they also take a percentage from the broker on the backend. So at this time you are looking at paying close to double the face value of the ticket. Tickets on the Fly is a marketing company but they don't mark up to the customer they just take a percentage from the broker on the backend which allows them to have such cheap prices in the secondary market.
Tickets on the Fly is free with both iPhone and iPad version. They are available worldwide exclusively on the App Store in the Entertainment category.
Founded in 2009 Tickets on the Fly is committed to connecting ticket buyers with ticket sellers directly, ensuring that the mobile community can always find great tickets at fair prices without the service fees.
