[prMac.com] Erlangen, Germany - Michael Mueller Verlag has announced Florence MMTravel Guide 3.6 for all iOS devices. Michael Mueller books always offer a bit more: more deeply researched, detailed practical travel information, subjective assessments, even tourist eyesores and aberrations are pointed out with a true journalistic flair.
Michael Mueller Publishing is expanding to create an English language travel guide series, titled "MM-City", exclusively as applications for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Michael Mueller, after 30 plus years of publishing and over 200 titles, continues to create travel guidebooks while incorporating the new media. The result is the ideal travel companion that won't add an ounce to baggage weight.
Students, Tourists and Expats:
As thousands of travelers head to Europe in the fall, as U.S. and U.K. universities kick off fall study abroad, the new app series MM-City is there to keep them oriented without breaking their budget. Mueller's first destination app available in English is Florence, Italy. With over 180 English language Study Abroad programs, according to StudyAbroad, Florence has many newcomers who could use Mueller guides to get lost (safely!) and learn their new city.
Bring your iPhone or iPad - No Internet Required:
The likelihood that travelers own smartphones increases every year. In a University of Colorado survey of smartphone users, 40% of the 500 interviewed owned iPhones. Michael Mueller Publishing believes that these gadgets should be tools for enhancing rather than distracting from the everyday.
Unique features, included in $5.99 price:
A one-time download includes a back-up PDF of text and maps, for an easy print-out option, should the user desire excerpts or need to leave the device at home to charge. There is never network or roaming costs when using this App, in fact, no Internet connection is required at all.
Easy download Porthole:
After following our app website's link to the Apple store, the user must download the Free Michael Mueller "MM-Travel" App, which then contains all the city guide and hiking apps available. Only after downloading the "MM-Travel" app can one access the guidebooks and/or enter a promotional code.

Mueller began his career in the late 70's by writing travel guides with a more on-site, journalistic approach. The publisher broke new ground in 1982 when he published a book about the Franconian Switzerland, the first unconventional guide to a German region. Mueller's offices are based in Erlangen, Germany. With now over 200 destination titles for city and hiking guides, Germany's number one independent travel guidebook publisher has begun publishing guides in English and Spanish.
