[prMac.com] Dorset, United Kingdom - Tobytek is happy to add to the flick app trend by releasing Flick Ninja for iOS devices earlier this week. "The response has been favorable" says proprietor Stuart Palmer "once you hear the sounds and start flicking, it's hard to put down".
The game is designed to appeal to a mass audience, and be simple enough to grasp for anyone to pick up and start playing straight away. The player has a single ninja throwing star and must flick it around the screen, avoiding obstacles and attempting to pop and smash targets that get in the way. The walls can be used to rebound and bounce the star, making it necessary to think about the angles of many finger swipes.
There are 4 game modes to choose from, adding variety and depth to the game. The sound effects have been carefully selected to hold the player's attention and give the impression of real metallic objects (not to mention the bamboo sticks) flying around the screen.
"This is a boredom buster app" says Stuart, "You can pick it up and put it down on a bus ride, for example, or when waiting in queues. Learn it in 5 minutes, and then spend hours trying to wipeout (ace) all the levels".
