CourseNotes 2.0 for Mac Adds Rich Text Editing, Lion Fullscreen Support
August 18, 2011 in Educational
[prMac.com] Boston, Massachusetts - Dear Panda LLC has announced the release of version 2.0 of their popular CourseNotes note-taking app for the Mac, just in time for the fall semester. CourseNotes 2.0 improves note-taking by adding support for rich text editing as well as support for fullscreen mode in Mac OS X Lion.
One of the most powerful features of CourseNotes on the Mac is its organizational capabilities, and CourseNotes 2.0 enhances organization even further with support for rich text editing within notes. Students can add underlined, bold and italicized text throughout their notes as well as change font sizes to emphasize sections of the text. Along with CourseNotes' bullet summary mode, students now have a powerful and comprehensive set of tools with which to structure their notes.
CourseNotes 2.0 on the Mac also adds support for fullscreen mode in Mac OS X Lion. Fullscreen mode is a natural fit for CourseNotes, which is designed and optimized for a single window interface, much like CourseNotes for the iPad. Fullscreen mode lets students fully focus on note-taking, which is especially useful in a classroom setting.
Dear Panda today also announced an update to CourseNotes for the iPad as well as a special offer for educators. Version 3.0 of the iPad app adds the same rich text formatting features found in the Mac app. This not only allows for students on the iPad to take advantage of the same organizational tools found in the Mac version, but also provides seamless syncing of notes between the Mac and the iPad while maintaining all of their formatting.
As part of Dear Panda's special offer to educators, a limited supply of promo codes will be given to qualified educators to download CourseNotes for free. To inquire about the free promo codes, educators are being asked to send their name, school affiliation and how they plan to use CourseNotes in the classroom to Dear Panda support.
