[prMac.com] Buffalo, New York - Front9 Technologies has announced iJuror 1.2.8, an iPad app that brings juror selection to the 21st century. The app helps attorneys and paralegals manage the juror selection process in an efficient and organized manner. Easy to use icons let attorneys get an overview of the jury pool with just a glance. iJuror helps eliminate the messy sticky notes that attorneys are accustomed to during the juror selection process.
iJuror has been featured in many print and digital legal publications including the ABA Journal, law.com, and the Buffalo Law Journal.
Matt Chandler of the Buffalo Law Journal writes: "Attorneys have the ability to organize their prospective jurors, key in pertinent information from pre-configured drop-down boxes and add additional information that comes from the selection process. Jurors can then be sorted by those who are dismissed by each side and those who are retained, and all of the information is electronically stored for quick retrieval."
Chandler also adds: "No stacks of paperwork, hand-drawn charts or sticky notes to update juror information. If the construction worker makes the cut, he is seated. If the opposing counsel uses a pre-emptive challenge, he is dragged into a folder at the bottom of the screen. If you choose to dismiss him, there is a second folder. All of that information is stored for future retrieval, if necessary."
When the app first launches, the user can create a new trial or select a trial they have already been working on. When a new trial is created, the user can enter a custom seat layout. This is a very important feature since the seating layout can vary widely between municipalities, state court, and federal court.
Once the user has set an appropriate seating chart the process of entering juror information can begin. With a simple tap on a seat, the attorney can begin entering information about a juror. This includes general demographic information such as age, gender, ethnicity, and education. The app also lets attorneys track up to three custom categories that are important to that specific trial.
After juror information has been entered, at any point the app user can drag the juror to another seat. Seating readjustment frequently occurs in the court room and the app makes this simple to do. This same drag-and-drop feature is used to add jurors to the selected pool or to indicate that they have been dismissed.
At any point, the iJuror user can share the information from the app with his or her colleagues. The app contains an email button that will transform all of the data entered in the app into an email message that can be sent directly from the iPad. iJuror also supports Bluetooth data sharing so two colleagues sitting next to each other can share iJuror information with each other in real-time.
