TOONDRA for iOS/Android - Free, Tri-Lingual Comic Book Reader and Store

in Books (E)

[] Seoul, Korea - eType Factory today is pleased to introduce TOONDRA 1.0.1 for iOS and Android, their free, tri-lingual Comic Book Reader, Library, and online Store. Featuring the highest quality Korean comics in English, Korean, and Chinese, many comics allow switching between languages. The online Store features the following categories: New, Hot, Free, Action, Drama, Comedy, and Adult & Other. Comics may be previewed free, and once purchased, re-downloaded at any time. The Reader automatically scans panels from left to right, and the size of each panel is automatically optimized to fill the screen. While the Reader itself is not a Universal app (optimized for smooth display on all iOS devices), the comics are in vector graphic format, so all text and art display perfectly on any size screen in both portrait and landscape orientation.

The animated transitions between panels add momentum to the narrative; users no longer need to scroll down a long page to locate a panel. The reader just touches the right edge of the panel to go forward one frame or the left edge to go backward. Touching the center brings up the control panel that allows moving directly to the first page. The app automatically moves from panel to panel, moving down and flush left when it reaches the right edge of the page. User Settings control the animation, manual operation, and Library organization.

Feature Highlights:
* Reader function provides automatic movement to the next pane by touching the screen
* Panes may be flipped and sized according to preference in landscape or portrait orientation
* Many titles permit changing the language while reading
* Purchased comics may be re-downloaded at any time
* Library may be arranged by series or language
* Continual reading and bookmarking functions
* Preview both free and paid comic books
* Built-in title search function
* Readers may leave comments for the author and interact with other users

On launch in portrait mode, the app defaults to the Store screen, where the top tab bar offers the following buttons: New, Popular, Genre, and Free. Choosing Genre activates a sub-tab bar with four choices: Action, Drama, Comedy, and Adult & Other. Language choices include Korean, English, Chinese, or All. Having browsed through the Store and found a comic of interest, the reader touches the title of the comic in the illustrated scrolling list, which opens a complete page describing the comic. Free comics can be previewed by touching Freeview (downloading the entire comic), and pay comics by touching Preview (downloading the first 5-8 pages). Space is provided for the user's review, and they can read the reviews of others.

TOONDRA has a free, optional membership that allows users to re-download any comic book they have purchased, making it unnecessary to store a complete collection on an iOS device. Membership is not required to download free or paid titles.

TOONDRA welcomes all artists who will be forming a wider world of comics. Their app is designed to allow artists to upload their work, and after review, be listed in the Store. eType Factory has taken every step possible to insure fair contracts and profit sharing with all comic book creators. The company hopes to build an open market system, where artists can view their earnings online at any time.

"We welcome everyone who loves reading comic books and all the talented authors of comics to try our new app, TOONDRA," stated HeeMoon Kim of eType Factory. "Comics look great on mobile devices, and we hope our app will help readers all over the world discover the enjoyment of comics from TOONDRA."
