[prMac.com] Aalsmeer, The Netherlands - Mekentosj BV, winner of three Apple Design Awards for their Mac desktop applications, is pleased to announce the availability of Solutions, their first scientific application for iPhone and iPod touch. Solutions is a handy calculator for making chemical solutions in the lab or at school. It makes those nasty molarity calculations a breeze and it's fun to use too.
Whether you are a chemist, biologist or student, no one likes the calculations needed before making chemical solutions. Solutions is the solution.
How many grams of caffeine do you need to make a 1 molar coffee solution? What's the molarity of water? In what volume do I have to dissolve 10 grams of glucose for my experiment? Never before it was so easy, and without mistakes. Solutions tells you straight away.
And did we tell already that it puts the complete PubChem and Chebi databases in your pocket?
* Intuitive and easy to use user interface to calculate volume, weight, and molarity on the basis of molecular weights
* Enter a molecular formula and Solutions calculates the Molecular Weight instantly
* Or even easier, look up the Molecular Weight of almost any chemical using built-in chemical database search engines
* Solutions helps you to keep track of chemicals you previously used
* Solutions works on all iPhone and iPod touch models
Pricing and Availability:
Solutions is available in the iPhone App Store for $2.99 (USD).
Alexander Griekspoor is an independent software developer who writes innovative software for scientists. After a PhD in Cell Biology he switched fields and joined the European Bioinformatics institute as a Marie Curie postdoctoral fellow. Alexander is perhaps most well-known as "Mek" from the duo "Mekentosj". Together with his friend Tom "Tosj" Groothuis he developed a number of scientific Mac applications, two of which won Apple Design Awards for best Best Student and Best scientific Mac OS X application, respectively. What started in his spare time became his passion and has now also become his work: mekentosj Inc. He aims to create new and innovative Mac OS X and iPhone applications for scientists, of which his recently released new program Papers is a prime example, it recently won Alexander's third Apple Design Award.
