[prMac.com] New York, New York - The ZombieBomb! comic anthology dedicated iOS app is currently featured in the "What's Hot" section of iTunes, and is one of the first free universal comic apps to offer both comics and full-featured stand-alone content including videos, backgrounds, alarm clocks and the ability to order physical copies of ZombieBomb! books. The app is a free download that contains all issues of the ZombieBomb! comic anthology, which has been praised for it's unique take on the Zombie genre by notable horror and entertainment outlets including G4TV's Electric Playground, Fangoria, MSNBC and Ain't It Cool News, for purchase as in-app downloads for $1.99 each.
"Working with amazing creative talent on ZombieBomb! enabled us to fully realize our Artistic vision." said Adam Miller, series co-creator and creative director at ZombieBomb! publisher Terminal Press. "Our evolution into the mobile application space has provided us with an entirely new medium in which our creative vision can be explored."
ZombieBomb! is a free universal app for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch that presents the previously hard-to-come-by limited run of ZB! books available for download in-app. Each 64-page comic costs $1.99, with all ZB! books and many variant covers available for download, including previously sold-out covers. The app was recently updated to become universal, meaning all content purchased can be viewed on iPad or iPhone and iPod devices that are synced with the same iTunes account.
The app expands on the ZombieBomb! universe by offering free downloadable HD backgrounds and a full-featured alarm clock, featuring artwork from contributors, visual effects, and zombie news wake-up calls. Included for free within the app are interchangeable "March of the Mindless" and "Atomic Zombie Apocalypse" themes, with other Premium skins available at $0.99 in app.
ZombieBomb! Television episodes are also available free in-app. ZB!TV has followed the ZombieBomb! team since the first book release in 2010. The series features in-depth interviews with the Terminal Press team and ZombieBomb! contributors, footage from appearances and signings, and chronicles of life on the convention circuit. Viewers will get a behind the scenes look at what it takes to make it in the challenging world of comic books. New episodes premier exclusively within the ZombieBomb! app.
The ZombieBomb! app debuted at the San Diego Comic Con in July of this year. With over 200 contributing writers & artists and content ranging from horrifically dark to poignant sarcasm, the ZB! books have undoubtedly helped to establish zombies as a unique genre of storytelling since the first installment, "Dead Not Dead," launched in 2010. Until the release of the app this summer, the books were available exclusively at convention appearances and directly through Terminal Press online. While physical copies of some of the series' issues are long sold-out, the ZombieBomb! App offers access to every issue of the ZB! series in its entirety.
Terminal Press, the publisher behind the ZombieBomb! comic anthology, has been an industry leader in independent comics since their inception in 2001. Terminal Press' forward-thinking approach to the comic medium continues to evolve with their hands-on expansion into the mobile application market. Never satisfied with the status quo, Terminal Press chose to develop their own mobile platform in partnership with Elite Gudz, keeping their content exclusive, adding many features not found in the market and creating the opportunity for further innovation as comics enter a new era.
Developer Elite Gudz, creative leaders in designing apps and content for multi-media movie, tablet and personal-use consoles, powers the app with its mobile dashboard platform.
ZombieBomb!'s 6th and final issue, "Last Rites," will be released this October in print and in-app.
