Daniel Massicotte's iPhone Gaming Apps Approach 10,000 Download Mark

in iAnnouncements (F)

[prMac.com] Seoul, South Korea - Daniel has been creating and marketing iPhone apps in the Canadian app store, available worldwide for just over 3 months. His most popular app, Mine Sweeper II FREE gets 120 - 200 downloads per day. The actual number fluctuates depending on many factors including updates posted and marketing efforts.

The real challenge is keeping the retention rate up. Meaning, the number of people who will install a game and keep it installed on their devices. Tiny Wings, for example has only ever been installed once on Daniel's iPhone. Same applies for his apps, but does the general population agree that Mine Sweeper II FREE is a permanent "keeper" app on every iPhone.

In the end, the one gaming company that finds the correct balance between design and distribution is the winning app. Mr. Daniel recommends that if you're new and just starting out a gaming company the best learning experience is learning about gaming portals and see how good you are at marketing an existing game using them.

"Of course, we're not even half way there yet. Having one gaming app that has reached the 10,000 downloads mark is nothing," states Daniel. Getting in the top 200 in the US alone will get you at least 1000 downloads on a free app. Apps that make it there must add tremendous value to the end user or be marketed through gaming channels or excellent marketing agencies.

After all, what good is a great game if no one has ever heard of it?
