[prMac.com] Ashland, Oregon - Open Door Networks Inc. and Project A Inc. ("Art Authority") has announced the availability of a new release of their award-winning Art Authority for iPad app which, when run on Apple's new iPad, lets users view classic works of art just as clearly as in a museum. Through the new iPad's retina display and enhancements to the app, users' eyes will be unable to discern individual pixels in the works, resulting in museum-quality viewing.
Version 4.6 of the app, available immediately through the iTunes App Store, increases the resolution of its professionally designed rooms, frames, plaques and other items to retina display quality. It also updates many of its works for the retina display, and includes a "Highlights" show featuring the app's major museum-quality paintings and sculptures.
"The ability for families at home and students in the classroom to view thousands of major works of art on their iPads, and to have what they see accurately mirror what they would see in museums around the world is simply phenomenal," said Alan Oppenheimer, president of Open Door Networks. "We are honored to be able to contribute to this part of Apple's and Steve Jobs' vision of combining technology and the liberal arts. "
Art Authority for iPad, Apple's choice for "Best iPad Reference app" through their Rewind 2011, was specifically designed for the groundbreaking tablet, bringing over 50,000 high-resolution classic works of art to iPad users' fingertips. Hailed as "an experience unlike any other" and "visually dazzling," the app stunningly displays paintings and sculptures by over 1000 major western artists from ancient times through current-day. Art Authority for Mac, iPhone and Kindle Fire bring similar functionality to these devices.
Art Authority is an innovative collaboration of two separate software companies (Open Door Networks and Project A). The mission of Art Authority is the design, development and deployment of the best ways for users to experience art on their modern-day devices.
