Shepherd for iPad - A herd of sheep and 10 dogs on your iPad
March 27, 2012 in Games
[prMac.com] Offenburg, Germany - Pleasant Software today is pleased to announce the release of "Shepherd", a brand new game for the iPad. Shepherd is written exclusively for the iPad and its big multitouch screen. It provides a new and unique gameplay experience, where the player uses his/her fingers as "shepherd dogs" to drive a herd of sheep to a target. Of course, the path to the target get's harder with every level. There are different obstacles to avoid like rivers, lakes and canyons. Not to forget: there's always a time limit to beat.
Thanks to sophisticated algorithms, the sheep are acting like a real herd. Sometimes this can make things quite complicated, e.g. when the goal includes separating black and white sheep before driving them into separate fencings.
Shepherd makes full use of the iPad's big multitouch screen. Each finger, touching the screen acts like a shepherd dog to the sheep. By using multiple fingers, the player can round up the sheep, separate them, drive them over bridges and so on. Shepherd supports up to 11 simultaneous touches (which is the iOS limit).
"Shepherd provides a really new and fun gameplay experience," commented Eberhard Rensch of Pleasant Software. "We put a lot of work and effort into the algorithms, driving the sheep. As a result, the sheep in shepherd are interacting with the 'shepherd dogs' like a real world herd. Together with the gorgeous graphic design from Ludwig Rensch and the awesome music soundtrack from Luca Pusch, this makes Shepherd a great and fun game for the whole family!"
