The app first hit the iTunes App Store in June 2011 and has since revealed two upgrades in features. BiteHunter 2.0 introduces a new visual interface, high-level system organization and in-app purchasing system for deals, BiteBuy(TM), to give consumers a well-rounded experience when filtering through more than 50,000 deals across the U.S.

As the first real-time dining deals search engine, BiteHunter 2.0 gives consumers the ability to search, browse and now purchase dining deals, specials and information directly from the iPhone. The app now features the all new BiteBuy(TM), a new one-click purchasing option in which users can browse and buy dining deals, both locally or across the country, without ever leaving the application. Purchases are secure with bank-grade encryption, so users are only required to enter daily deal logins or credit card information once, based on preference.

Visually, BiteHunter 2.0 presents restaurants and deals with a new eye-catching photo grid and a streamlined layout with breakthrough design. BiteHunter 2.0 utilizes a new algorithm to define the top deals for each user. By cleaning the clutter, the app now lists "Top Deals" first based on location, highest reviews and most popular user ratings. In addition, searches can be filtered by selecting and deselecting cuisine based on user preference. Results are already based on time of day and location. For each deal, the app shares all pertinent details, including restaurant contact info, location, menu, photos, reviews and more. Users can also make reservations within the app. The app also includes built-in social networking features, so users can share deals with friends and followers through Facebook and Twitter.
