[prMac.com] Newcastle, Australia - Cycle Torque, Australia's most popular motorcycle publication, now has one of the most well-received iPad magazines available on the App Store.
"With over 60 ratings, most of the 5-star, and many rave reviews from readers, we have been blown away by the response from our readers to the new iPad App", said Cycle Torque's Managing Editor, Nigel Paterson.
"We really wanted to produce an immersive reading and viewing experience with the iPad edition and we have succeeded way beyond our expectations. In addition to the words you get in the print edition, the iPad Edition adds video, audio, animations, slideshows, weblinks and social media integration, and our readers have really appreciated the extras.
"Reading Cycle Torque on the iPad really shows off the advantages of moving to tablet technology, unlike so many magazines which are simply creating PDF pages for their digital edition. It's a much better reading experience than any printed publication.
"I can't find any magazines on the App Store with such rave reviews, or such good ratings. Of the 60 ratings we've received, all but two have been four and five star. No other magazine I can find on the App Store comes close to those sorts of figures."
One review reads 'Excellent mag brilliantly done. This is the best mag app on the web bar none, Brilliantly done. Other mags could learn something here.'
Cycle Torque now has three editions available on the iPad, deliberately making a 'soft' launch of the new product to make sure any bugs were ironed out and features working properly before promoting the edition to an audience beyond it's current print readership.
"All three issues have been really well received, so it's time to let the world know there's a genuinely free motorcycle magazine available on the App Store - just like our print edition, there's no charge for the App or the issues, and you can even subscribe free," Mr Paterson said.
"At Cycle Torque we have grown from a state-based newspaper to a nationally glossy magazine, and we've done it without charging the readers. We believe we can attract enough interest and support from the industry to continue to offer the Cycle Torque iPad edition free on the App Store."
