Route 1.3 for iOS Adds Email and Print Support
June 30, 2012 in Navigation
[prMac.com] Reno, Nevada - Surrendered Studios LLC has announced the release of Route 1.3, an update to its popular navigation app for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. Route for iOS is the perfect tool for finding the shortest path between multiple destinations. The third update is now available, and it includes options for sharing the calculated route.
This new update provides the ability to print the directions of calculated routes using AirPrint or send them via email. Users can now even email Surrendered Studios without leaving the app via the redesigned about page. Also included are buttons to open the Surrendered Studios website, their Facebook page, and rate the app in the App Store. Another great addition with this update is the easier access to the previously calculated routes via a new history tab on the iPhone and a toolbar button on the iPad.
Route is targeted at couriers, delivery people, and anyone else who wants to save gas by finding the shortest route while running errands or planning a vacation. It uses an advanced genetic algorithm to determine a solution to the extremely difficult traveling salesman problem.
The iOS application contains a map view and a list view for adding and modifying destinations. These destinations can be moved to the beginning and end of the route. After adding destinations, the optimal route can be calculated, and then the directions for the entire route can be viewed. Each route is saved to allow the user to view it at a later time.
