Onkaworks releases Canyon Rush - A New Runner for iPhone and iPod touch
July 28, 2012 in Games
[prMac.com] New York, New York - Independent mobile game developer Onkaworks LLC announced that their second iPhone and iPod touch game, Canyon Rush is released on the iTunes App Store today, Friday, July 20th, 2012 and available as a free download. Canyon Rush lets players run through the desert, swiping to hop from cliff to cliff, leaping over longer and longer gulfs in what TouchArcade has called "a new runner with a cool hook."
Canyon Rush continues in the tradition of 2D "runner" games, but, in an innovate twist, uses different planes of depth to add a new dimension to a classic genre. Instead of the typical "jump, jump, jump" action of most runners, Canyon Rush asks players to make decisions - and to make them quickly. Move forward or to the side? Dodge or Jump over? Decide now, before it's too late!
Made all the more tricky by a dynamic, generative level creation engine, players will never know what to expect next and they'll never play the same game twice.
Along the way, players will have to dodge venomous Critters, break open Mystery Boxes, and collect all the coins they can. Coins are redeemable in the Canyon Store, where players can stuff their virtual backpack with all sorts of helpful items like Critter Antidote, "Saving Bird" Calls, and the almighty Critter Beater!
Canyon Rush includes a Game Center integrated leader board, so players can compete with their local friends or the entire world for the Longest Rush. Featuring super-sharp, retina-ready, cartoon-style graphics and pitch-perfect, twangy music and sound effects, Canyon Rush is sure to entertain iPhone users from the casual to the most dedicated.
