GroupLogic's ExtremeZ-IP Offers Support for Mac's OS X Mountain Lion

July 25, 2012 in Mac OSX

[prMac.com] Arlington, Virginia - Today GroupLogic(R), the industry's leading provider of software products that unlock the power of new enterprise platforms, announced its ExtremeZ-IP(R) 8.0, the only solution that empowers enterprise IT to seamlessly integrate Mac into existing Windows and NAS infrastructure, supports the new Mac OS X Mountain Lion. GroupLogic's ExtremeZ-IP assists users in integrating Apple in the Enterprise policies and ensuring seamless operations in the face of constant changes in desktop and server operating systems.

As reported by the website AllThingsD.com, Forrester Research's latest Global Tech Market Outlook states that enterprises will spend $19 Billion on Apple hardware in 2012 - which is 68 percent more iPads and 45 percent more Macs than purchased in 2011. These numbers do not include the cost of the hundreds of thousands of Mac computers analysts predict will be brought into the enterprise by employees due to the popularity of the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) trend.

Although Apple in the Enterprise presents boundless benefits, including hardware cost savings and more satisfied and more productive employees, the hurdle of integrating Apple operating systems such as Mountain Lion into existing Windows-based server environments poses many challenges for IT organizations. ExtremeZ-IP addresses this problem for enterprises by enabling the simple and rapid support and integration of Mac into Windows server environments. To see how it works, view a video online.

For two decades, GroupLogic has focused on enabling the seamless integration of Apple products into enterprise infrastructure. With many enterprises allowing employees to bring their own devices and purchase Mac computers directly, the need to provide the same user experience, regardless of the computing platform, becomes a requirement for IT organizations, no matter the industry.

"Today's release continues GroupLogic's commitment to making it even easier for enterprise IT administrators to integrate the latest Mac operating systems and Apple devices into their networks," said GroupLogic VP of Marketing and Product Management Anders Lofgren. "As Apple in the Enterprise explodes, GroupLogic is extremely well-positioned to take advantage of this trend by enabling our existing 7,000 customers, along with new ones, to embrace it and keep IT management simple, seamless and affordable."

ExtremeZ-IP 8.0 maintains GroupLogic's full support for Apple's Mountain Lion operating system and is available as a free upgrade to existing customers under maintenance contract. It can also be downloaded as a free trial and purchased by new customers via the GroupLogic web store, which offers two pricing options for enterprises: enterprise subscription licensing (ESL) and perpetual licensing.

GroupLogic helps enterprise and education IT organizations simply and securely integrate diverse computing platforms into enterprise environments, connecting employees to enterprise files, content and assets to facilitate a more productive and efficient work environment. With more than two decades of experience, GroupLogic leads the marketplace in helping IT organizations effectively and easily manage the integration of Apple products into the enterprise ecosystem. GroupLogic enables IT organizations to easily and securely manage the rapid integration of diverse platforms while ensuring resources are optimized. GroupLogic enables the enterprise to focus on what is really important - competitive differentiation, improved employee productivity, mitigated risk and reduced costs.
