The game follows the main character of the series Victorius - a Roman general in his quest to find a cure for Caesar, who has been poisoned. Even the greatest Roman doctors can only postpone Caesar's death. Caesar's daughter and a newfound wife of Victorius, Julia, is in despair, so the hero sets out on a long journey to find ancient Gods and ask them to heal the mighty leader of Rome.

The Players' mission as Victorius is to pave roads into unknown and dangerous lands, leave gifts and offerings on the Gods' altars and find the magic potion that will save Caesar's life. When gamers play Roads of Rome 2 they must think ahead and plan carefully because they fight not only against barbarians and wild animals but also time.
