Kwit - an iPhone app that makes quitting smoking becoming a game
August 3, 2012 in Health and Fitness
[prMac.com] Strasbourg, France - Most people who smoke wish they didn't. They live with a hatred for the habit they can't seem to do without. The fear of serious illness is usually there too, lurking in the background, and always that awful feeling of being powerless to quit.
With upwards of 5 million people dying on this planet every year from tobacco use, and being a former smoker myself, I feel the urge to help people to quit smoking. But stopping smoking isn't fun, it's awful. But with gamification techniques, Kwit adds fun to the game. Now, people willing to stop smoking can replace their dependency to the cigarette by the desire to climb levels and rank, and to unlock new achievements.
Users climb levels and ranks and must try to become the Ultimate Kwitter.
Users have access to useful statistics such as the time passed since they've stopped smoking, the money they've saved and the number of cigarettes they haven't smoked. They can monitor these statistics in live.
There is also 60 achievements for them to unlock, and in addition, some of them will inform users about the benefits of stopping smoking for their body and their live.
At last, they'll be able to share their progress with their friends on Facebook, Twitter and by email.
Shake your iPhone to draw a motivational card (40 different cards available) when craving for a cigarette is coming. You'll have a tip to avoid it and to feel better.
