An English/Spanish/English Assist for Drs., nurses and medical workers
August 18, 2012 in Medical
[prMac.com] Davis, California - This program is designed for medical professionals who need to conduct medical interviews and examinations with patients whose primary language is Spanish (or Spanish-to-English in the Spanish version). Based on the course taught at the University of California School of Medicine to medical students, nurses, physicians and students in the Master of Public health program, it includes health questions, illustrations for the "Review of Systems" and patient instructions as well as questions on family health, medicines/drugs, emergencies and a new section of instructions for diabetic patients and their families.
MedSpan for the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad instantly translates interview questions and utilizes new portable information technology to expedite physician record-keeping. Answers can be recorded with a touch of the "yes" or "no" buttons or notes taken in specialized text fields.
While other applications merely offer vocabulary, MedSpan allows a health worker to record and save interview notes on the hand-held and send results to a designated email account. This program will be of great use to medical professionals serving Spanish-speaking patients (or Spanish-speaking physicians serving English-speaking patients)- especially those at outlying clinics.
