AssistiveWare Releases Updates for Popular Proloquo2Go and Pictello Apps

in Education

[prMac.com] Amsterdam, Netherlands - AssistiveWare(R) today released major updates for their popular Proloquo2Go and Pictello apps for iPad, iPod touch and iPhone. The updates will be introduced at this week's American Speech-Language-Hearing Association Convention in Atlanta. Pictello is a simple way to create visual stories, talking photo albums and talking books in 25 languages. Proloquo2Go is an award-winning Augmentative and Alternative Communication solution for those who have difficulty speaking. Individuals with autism, cerebral palsy, Down Syndrome, ALS, developmental disabilities and many other conditions benefit from the Proloquo2Go technology.

Proloquo2Go 2.2 is a major update featuring new ways to customize the appearance of your buttons. Users will now be able to change border width, choose from dozens of fonts, and set the font size, color and style. These settings are also available for Typing View and the Message Window.

The app also offers new accessibility enhancements. For users who have difficulty accessing the smaller buttons in the toolbars, the Home and Previous button can now be automatically displayed in the grid.

Other changes include turning off the sliding animation to reduce distractions, importing pronunciation exceptions between users, improved management of backups and other smaller enhancements and bug fixes.

Pictello 1.6 adds word-by-word text highlighting for the Text to Speech voices to enhance literacy development, and more options for sharing stories with others by saving them to Dropbox as Pictello stories or PDFs.

The app also adds a Japanese voice as the 25th language in which stories can be created. All voices are available as free downloads from within the app. Additionally, version 1.6 includes support for the larger screens of iPhone 5 and the new iPod touch, as well as other minor bug fixes and enhancements.
