Grubber Launches Bill-Splitting Food Journal iPhone App

[prMac.com] Singapore, Singapore - Grubber today is pleased to launch an iPhone and iPad app that combines an accurate bill-splitting function with food journal features. Diners pay only for what they consume; a journal-style design enables foodies to keep a photographic record of their gastronomic adventures.
"Most people resolve a complicated restaurant bill by splitting it evenly. While simple, this crude method rewards the lobster devourer and penalizes the salad nibbler," commented Zen Ho of Grubber. "This prompted us to create an app that uses individual and shared food item tabs to capture exactly who ordered what."
Fully customizable tip and tax rates enhance Grubber's effectiveness. A summary of the split bill can then be shared among the diners via a discreet email or SMS. Details of a Grubbered meal can also be posted on Twitter or Facebook.
"While we wanted Grubber to be accurate, we also wanted it to be fun. To that end, we incorporated photo-taking capability, star rating and DIY restaurant review for food lovers to diary their meals," Ho added.
Apart from helping big groups of diners to pay their fair share quickly, Grubber also looks set to be a boon to restaurants, which are sometimes landed with the unenviable task of splitting a messy bill.
"Eating out in huge groups is one of the biggest joys in life," said Ho. "We hope that Grubber makes it even simpler and more fun."
