November 23, 2012 in Books
[prMac.com] Stone, United Kingdom - Following on from the success and glowing reviews of Oliver Twist, Secret Attic has announced the release of A Christmas Carol 1.0, the second in a unique series of read and play interactive story books, available now for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.
The story follows miser Ebenezer Scrooge who after being visited by the ghost of his long dead business partner, Marley, embarks on a path of self redemption. Leading him on this journey are the ghostly apparitions of Christmas Past, jolly Christmas Present and the hooded Christmas Yet to Come.
Hear the story beautifully narrated by Emma Messenger or read the child-friendly text. Interact with the characters, solve the puzzles, complete all the achievements and revel in the warmth of this spirited interactive book. As with Oliver Twist, it includes quotes from the original Dickens text and a piece of history on each page. Learn about Christmas in the Victorian era - was it much different to today? Not as much as you'd think!
"We are introducing Dickens to early readers in a fun and accessible way" said Dr David White, Director of Secret Attic. "Our Dickens series enables children to learn how they know best, by reading, listening and playing - it's an exciting blend between a book and a game, with a dash of history thrown in for good measure".
