[prMac.com] Bayonne, New Jersey - PixelPower Inc. has announced the release of Atomic 2D Platformer 1.0, its new gaming title developed for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. Atomic 2DPlatformer brings with it several features that make it stand out from the iPhone Platformer gaming crowd. Atomic, the main character, has a wide variety of powers ranging from the ability to turn enemies into ice, using a flamethrower, slashing enemies with a sword, turning himself into a fireball and producing mystic flames that surround his body. He uses these various abilities to defeat various enemy types ranging from basic walkers to enemies that can fly.
Also Atomic can collect coins and smash bricks (which will please the Super Mario in you) using his many different abilities. Also for nostalgic purposes the developer Pixel Power included a monochrome gameboy level that will bring back memories of the first official console handheld the nintendo gameboy.
Atomic 2D Platformer also features several boss fights against large bosses, some that even fill up half the screen. Included in the game is the boss rush arena mode, which is unlocked after beating the game. Also there is an achievements center which will keep you playing long after you beaten the game by going after all the goals in the achievement section. Also a review in the popular IOSreviewer website lauded the game as a step up in iPhone platformer gaming calling it one of the best iPhone platformer games. Add to that the game has an average user rating of 5 stars.
Atomic 2D Platformer represents in a way what the iPhone itself represents which is progression. Just as the iPhone has progressed, Atomic 2D Platformer represents the step up for iPhone platformer games. Nintendo had Super Mario Bros., Sega had Sonic, Turbo graphicx 16 had Bonk, and now iPhone has its mascot Atomic 2D Platformer.
