[prMac.com] Los Angeles, California - Indie developer Mohamed Abid is proud to introduce Buzzed101 v1.1 for iOS. In the absence of having a portable breathalyzer or blood test in the field, law enforcement officers launched research between 1995 and 1998 to standardize field sobriety tests. The Buzzed101 iPhone app builds on two out of the three Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST) studied in Colorado, Florida and San Diego. The app covers the tests that are best detectable by your iPhone: the walk-and-turn (WAT) test motion, and the one-leg-stand (OLS) test motion. A third test, also detectable by the iPhone is used to assess your stress level.
Have you ever wondered how much your body reacts physically to alcohol? How stress can make you unsteady? Why you shouldn't drive under the influence of drugs or alcohol? This app shows you how much you are physically affected by mind altering states or substances. It quantifies the difference between a motion test taken as a baseline (while sober, well-rested, relaxed) and a motion test you take while under some stress (exhaustion, alcohol, stress, drugs - prescription or otherwise). It is not developed to tell you if you are drunk, stoned, or stressed out - that is for you to decide based on the difference from the behavior of the baseline.
The transition between a normal state to an altered state is very subtle, and , if you are the one impaired, very difficult to notice and quantify. This app is designed to help you make an impartial, scientific evaluation of your state of mind and how it affects your physical being. You can compare how much your body is altered by different factors such as alcohol, stress, excitement...etc. These results are interesting and fun and could assist you in making a responsible decision when operating a vehicle, interacting with people, or understanding your body.
