[prMac.com] New York, NY - The Princeton Review and Modality, Inc. today announced The Princeton Review's SAT(R) Vocab Challenge application is available on the Apple App Store. This iPhone(TM) and iPod touch(R) app is a college admissions exam resource that measures a user's mastery of 250 words, including The Princeton Review's Hit Parade, a list of 100 words that most frequently appear on the SAT.

"Vocabulary building is one of the easiest, most effective ways to improve an SAT score, but it requires time and discipline on the part of the student," according to Robert Franek, VP/Publisher of The Princeton Review. "The revolutionary iPhone and iPod touch have enabled us to strip away the typical barriers to study so students can carry hundreds of need-to-know words with them everywhere they go, and challenge themselves with fast-paced drills for a meaningful study session, whether they have five free minutes or an entire weekend."

Modality created a custom framework for The Princeton Review's SAT application that takes full advantage of the innovative Multi-Touch user interface of iPhone and iPod touch and includes the following features:

* 250 of the most commonly tested words on the SAT, as identified by The Princeton Review's survey of past tests
* Four distinct types of timed challenges to test the user on each word's positive or negative connotation, synonyms, antonyms, and definition
* Students can select answers quickly by swiping the screen or shaking the device
* Performance is tracked by the app itself, so at any time students can see the number of terms they have mastered
* A complete index with definition, audio pronunciation and part of speech for each word

Additional standardized test preparation titles, along with applications based on The Princeton Review's bestselling line of college and graduate school reference guides, are scheduled for release in 2009. A video demonstration of SAT Vocab Challenge may be viewed online at Modality's website and more information about The Princeton Review is available online at The Princeton Review's website or by calling 800-2Review.

Pricing and Availability:
SAT Vocab Challenge is available for $4.99 (USD) from the App Store. Requires iPhone 2.2.1 software update.
